Enjoying Oxymels

Suribachi Oxymels are available in the FarmHub store. We have Yuki, owner and maker extraordinaire, to share with us a little about Oxymels, their benefits, and their culinary uses!

Yuki writes:

Oxymel is a traditional form of herbal tincture originating in ancient Greece. It is made by infusing herbs, spices, and fruit into unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) and raw honey.

Aside from its great probiotic benefits, Oxymel is a delicious way to discover new herbs and flavours and can be used in a variety of ways, including in cocktails and drinks; salad dressings; sauces; and marinades.

Simply mixing 1 part Oxymel with 3 parts water or seltzer will produce a drink with a similar level of sourness to Kombucha.

By mixing 3 parts Oxymel with 1 part oil or mayonnaise, you can make a quick vinaigrette or dressing, perfect for salads and vegetable dips.

Beyond these quick and simple uses, we hope the real excitement is finding new ways to enjoy Oxymel as an ingredient in your daily food and drinks!
