Canada Summer Jobs Positions

Victoria Community Food Hub Society (VCFHS) is hiring!

 

Are you / do you know a student (aged 18-30) looking for a rewarding summer job working in sustainable food systems? We are looking for youth to fill a variety of full time positions, from events and community outreach to food production. 

 

Youth will gain skills and experience working in local and sustainable food systems, as well as the chance to network with a range of inspiring food-organizations and producers in the region. If you have a passion for food and working with your community, check out our current opportunities below.

Applicants must be eligible under Canada Summer Jobs guidelines: 

  • Between 18 - 30 years old at the beginning of employment period, 

  • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred,

  • legally entitled to work in Canada.

International students temporarily in Canada are not eligible participants under the guidelines.

Food Production Assistant

As a Food Production Assistant you will connect our community to healthy, local food by supporting the South Island FarmHub in our NEW processing kitchen at Kitchen Connect! You will be responsible for processing operations, product quality control and customer experience. In this role, you will be trained on the sales and fulfillment capacities inherent in the order system; receive farm orders from our suppliers and farmers, then build and deliver the outgoing customer orders. You will operate commercial light-processing kitchen equipment to support and streamline vegetable washing, as well as oversee light processing to create products made from locally farmed produce.
